Pregnancy Calendar

Pregnancy is the carrying of one or more offspring, known as a fetus/embryo, inside the womb of a female. In many references, pregnancy is typically broken into three periods, or trimesters, each of about three months, where these distinctions are useful in describing the changes that take place over time.

First Trimester (W1 – W13)
In first trimester, your pregnancy begins as your body gears up for ovulation and prepares for fertilization. As the first trimester comes to a close, your baby’s is grown up and will have size of peach, though you may not be feeling too peachy about your sex life right now.

Second Trimester (W14 – W27)
In this second trimester, it’s all about hair now as your baby sprouts some on his head, eyebrows, and body. As for Mom, those first-trimester pregnancy symptoms should be easing up a bit. As the second trimester come close, your baby moves on to a whole new growth chart this week, while your swollen feet and ankles may need a growth chart of their own.

Third Trimester (W28 – W42)
In Week 28, your baby should start blinking their eyes and dreaming while you may be dreaming that the pain in your derriere will disappear. And started from week 37 your doctor may check for labor signs, while your baby prepares for birth by sucking, turning, and breathing in the womb. Week 37 – 42 are the period of labor where W40 is the official end of your pregnancy. You should be sensitive for labor signs and consult your doctors immediately if you feel something unusual or different than normal labor symptoms.
